Antoine Morinière

 

Known as one of the most active guitarists of his generation, Antoine Morinière is invited to perform solo chamber music concerts and concertos all over the world. He has performed in numerous countries including France (Philharmonie de Paris), Canada, Greece, Cyprus, Thailand, China, Nepal, Jordan (Amman Amphitheatre), Turkey, Morocco (Fez Sacred Music Festival), England (Wigmore Hall), Ireland, Belgium (Bozar Festival), Poland, Finland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Portugal (Casa da Música), Romania, Spain (Palau de la Musica), Germany (Leipzig Bach Festival), Italy, Austria, Hungary, Montenegro, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Switzerland.

Throughout his career, Antoine has performed chamber music with exceptional artists such as Thibaut Garcia, Philippe Bernold, Raphaël Sévère, Manon Galy, Marianne Piketty, Anousha Nazari, Fatma Saïd, Hanna Salzenstein, Joséphine Olech, Raphaël Feuillâtre, and Gabriel Bianco. With a keen interest in contemporary music, he collaborates with several composers, including the Japanese composer Rikako Watanabe, Raphaël Sévère, Leo Brouwer, and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger.

Fifteen years ago, Antoine began playing guitar as a duo with Thibaut Garcia. They performed Baroque music by Bach, Couperin, Rameau, and Scarlatti in numerous concerts. In 2020, they dedicated themselves fully to transcribing the Goldberg Variations for two guitars specially built for the occasion. The project culminated in a recording with the Warner label in 2025.

Antoine also launched a new project entitled Baroque Labyrinth with Iranian mezzo-soprano Anousha Nazari, blending the sounds of early Western music by Handel and Strozzi with Persian poetry by Maraghi and Rumi. Always in search of new repertoires, Antoine began playing with world music artists such as Sami Yusuf, Ballaké Cissoko, Nabyla Maan, Guo Gan, and Jose Manuel Leon at events like the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music (Morocco) and the Tanweer Festival in Dubai.
