Guillaume Bleton

Guitarist, composer, arranger, and teacher, Guillaume Bleton discovered music through rock and then jazz. He later studied classical guitar, composition, analysis, orchestration, and music history at conservatories in Paris. He furthered his training at the Pôle Supérieur de Lille, graduating with highest honors, and studied pedagogy at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he earned his teaching qualification (Certificat d’Aptitude).

As a concert performer, he frequently appears in chamber music settings with voice (Duo Gagey-Bleton, Romancero album released by Paraty in 2024), cello (Duo Nouhaud-Bleton, Archipel album released by Continuo Classics in 2023), flute (Duo Lazare, Duo Tallet-Bleton), and violin (Duo Inao with Florian Perret). He has recently performed alongside Sami Yusuf, soprano Nadine Sierra, pianist Thomas Enhco, violinist Jordan Victoria, and accordionist Félicien Brut. A prolific arranger for many concert projects, he initially began composing through collaborations with dance.

A member of the Les Orpailleurs company since 2009, he has worked with them on numerous occasions in roles as instrumental and electroacoustic composer, performer, and improviser. Returning to his early influences, he composes and performs with his progressive rock duo PRIISM. These diverse influences permeate his instrumental music, inspired by composers such as Ligeti and Dutilleux, both in terms of language and in the exploration of timbre and texture, as heard in Le Bateau ivre, premiered in July 2022 by the Cordissime quintet, and Mémoires de Nuit, premiered in March 2024 by Duo Inao.

Guillaume Bleton teaches at the Regional Conservatory of Créteil.
